Frequently Asked Questions

  • Let’s start by answering what we are not….  While we affectionately refer to ourselves as a farm, we are not a real operating farm in the traditional sense.  We are also not a public music venue, a commercial horse boarding facility, or a campground.  We are home to over 90 animals including horses, donkeys, goats, pigs, chickens, ducks, rabbits, dogs and cats.  We are an event facility capable of hosting private events spanning hours or days.  We have multiple places to accommodate overnight guests ranging from camping to glamping to an apartment over the barn.  We love music and have hosted a bunch of outdoor and indoor concerts for friends.

  • While there are no public ticket sales, we welcome friends of the farm and fans of the artists we host.  We love making new friends so please email us at brian@ponoacres.com to get on our email list to hear about upcoming shows and other happenings.  We promise not to inundate your inbox with useless junk or sell your email to anyone.

  • A house concert is a concert that takes place in our living room.  Given the intimate setting, artists often share the stories behind their songs.  Space is limited.  Most shows are acoustic so we ask that conversations take place outside the listening room.  We provide chairs and guests are free to bring a cooler with their beverage of choice or something to eat.  For some shows, dinner will be provided. Music usually ends by ~10 and folks are welcome to hang out after the show where we sometimes have a bonfire and some of our talented friends may strum a song or two.

  • “Come meet friendly farm animals at Pono Acres” is a farm tour through the Airbnb Experience platform. Attendees will get the opportunity to see the property and meet our horses, donkeys, goats, pigs, rabbits, chickens, and ducks. Learn about the daily care and feeding routines and get a glimpse into the personalities and idiosyncrasies of each animal group. There will be lots of opportunities for photographs with your favorite farm animal. Tours will last approximately 1.5 hours and are limited to groups of 8 people. Private group tours are also available.

  • We’ve hosted a variety of events including celebrations of life, retirement parties, birthday parties, and weddings.

  • Please submit a pricing request form (response with quote generally will be turned around within 48 hours of form submission)

  • While we don’t offer commercial horseback riding as a stand alone offering, we would be happy to discuss it as part of a private tour.  We have several well trained horses able to accommodate a wide range of experience levels from first time riders to equine experts.

  • We love dogs, but there are six conditions for bringing your furry friends:

Your pet must remain on a leash at all times

Your pet has to be friendly to other dogs and humans

You must clean up after your pet

Your pet should not whine, yelp, bark, in the listening area

In case you are unaware, there is a respiratory illness spreading across the country. If your dog is coughing, please leave it at home.

If you are staying in a glamping shed, you must have your dog crated if left unattended

You will be asked to remove your dog from the property if it takes away from the enjoyment of the greater good
